Adding Media

Mydia provides multiple ways to add media to your libraries.

Search and Add

The primary way to add media is through the search interface:

  1. Click Search in the navigation
  2. Enter the movie or TV show title
  3. Select the correct result from the search results
  4. Choose a quality profile
  5. Click Add to Library

Mydia will automatically search for releases and download them based on your quality profile settings.

Import Existing Media

If you have existing media files, Mydia can import them during library scanning:

  1. Place your media files in the library directory
  2. Trigger a library scan (or wait for automatic scan)
  3. Mydia will match files to metadata and import them

File Naming

For best results, use standard naming conventions:

Movies: 

Movie Title (Year)/Movie Title (Year).mkv

TV Shows: 

Show Title (Year)/Season 01/Show Title - S01E01 - Episode Title.mkv

For manual control over downloads:

  1. Navigate to the media item
  2. Click Manual Search
  3. Browse available releases
  4. Select and download your preferred release

Requests (Multi-User)

Guest users can request media:

  1. Guest searches for media
  2. Guest clicks Request
  3. Admin receives notification
  4. Admin approves or denies request
  5. If approved, media is added and download begins

Import Wizard

For bulk imports, use the Import Wizard:

  1. Navigate to Import
  2. Select files or directories
  3. Review matched metadata
  4. Confirm import
